Cable take-outs are also called cable tko’s or cable electrodes. In seismic survey, cable cable take-outs are used to connecting geophones and seismic cables, then transfer seismic signals. While in resistivity and IP imaging, cable take-outs are used to transfer current and potential signals to the ground.
There are various types of cable take-outs to suit with different data acquisition system or resistivity imanging systems. Split Plate take-out, Wire wrap take-out (or so called Mueller Clip take-out) and Kooter male take-out are the most frequently used take-out in refraction survey. While Split Plate cable electrode, wire wrap cable electrode and round steel rod cable electrode are the most popolar electrode forms in IP and resistivity imaging.
