1). Use a small hammer with a flat-head shovel to plan out the electrode pit at the designated electrode position, so as to see moist and fresh soil.
2). Place the bottom of the non-polarized electrode vertically in the middle of the electrode pit, and press the electrode firmly to make it come into close contact with the soil. Be careful not to shake the electrode after pressing.
3). If it is a short period measurement, such as scanning the surface of a middle ladder, just press and hold the electrode will be OK. If you need to observe for a long time, you need to bury the electrode around densely with soil.
4). If the work area is in the dry season and the surface soil is very dry, you must firstly water the electrode pit and then press the electrode to measure.
5). For long time work under summber sun, the electrode must be shaded so as to avoid affect data acquistion or electrode service life.
1). Before applications, the electrodes will be connected in parallel and the bottom of the electrodes will be immersed in a saturated salt solution for about 2 minutes and then taken directly to the field for use.
2). If there is a requirement for the electrode range, please choose two electrodes randomly in the same container and use them in pairs. The selection principle is: Use the digital multimeter to measure the potential difference of two non-polarizable electrodes and the appropriate combination should be <2mV.
1). Keep the electrodes in dry places and avoid light.
2). Keep the electrodes clean and pile in horizontal direction.
1). When selecting electrodes, you must use a digital multimeter, not an analog meter.
2). The electrode clip should not be soaked or wetted with salt water, otherwise, the clip should be wiped dry immediately or replaced.
3). If you want to know the grounding of the electrode by measuring the resistance, you may measure the AC potential difference or the DC potential difference (natural potential) and judge whether the circuit is OK or not.
1). It is strictly prohibited to measure the resistance of electrodes indoors.
2). Directly measuring on grounding resistance is strictly prohibited in the field.
3). If necessary, it is recommended to do the measurement after fieldwork and the electrodes used should be connected in parallel with the bottom immersed in the saturated salt solution for at least 30 minutes.
In order to prevent excessive pulling of the wire in-field use, it is recommended to tie the wire to the draw rope.
Non-polarized Electrodes NP-60Plus and NP-50Lx are also available.
